THERE is a change to the landscape on Stadium Drive.
A distinctive orange and stone coloured building is almost complete and the doors will open March 8.
Receiving the keys to a new build is exciting, especially if it is for the long awaited Coffs Harbour GP Super Clinic.
“It has been three years in the planning and we are so proud to be offering this new medical facility to the community,” Tracey Mills, finance and HR officer for the Coffs Harbour GP Super Clinic said.
“The interior is complete and now it’s just the finishing touches before our grand opening.”
The Coffs Harbour GP Super Clinic will bulk bill for GP services and will also be an after-hours urgent care centre open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm.
With a strong emphasis on chronic disease and preventive health care, the Coffs Harbour GP Super Clinic will
offer allied health services, including psychology, physiotherapy, podiatry and exercise physiology as well as provide access to a health promotion officer.
“We have a range of allied health services and onsite pathology and will be introducing pharmacy, dental and radiology in the future.”
“Parking isn’t a problem as there are 49 car spaces underneath the building giving people easy all weather access.”
Leavina Reid, is CEO of the Coffs Harbour GP Super Clinic’s parent organization, Bawrunga Aboriginal Medical Service and is pleased with the final result of the build.
“The site is perfect,” she said.
“It is a short drive from the centre of Coffs Harbour and neighbouring towns, is accessible by public transport, and is close to the sporting complex, education campus and Base Hospital.
“This GP Super Clinic aims to reduce the demand on the nearby Base Hospital through better coordination of chronic and complex patients, as well as providing a close, alternative location for patients with lower acuity injury and illness to receive treatment.”
